I created fake web ads for the imaginary product “Guyliner” by an imaginary brand “Coverchad”. The project was inspired by Dorian Electra’s song Guyliner, so I used Dorian as the face of Guyliner by Coverchad advertising campaign.

This project is a part of my exploration of heavily gendered products and marketing. Recently, “alternative” gender expression is more commonly co-opted by brands to sell to wider audiences, but oversights and misunderstandings are inevitable, and reveal how consumer culture is dependent on constructs like gender.
